James (Jim) Wilfred Anz passed away on April 3, 2024. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Moore Cemetery in Chalk Bluff. Jim was born August 6, 1936 in Clifton, Texas to Wilfred Ernest Anz and Lena Ida (Boelter) Anz Oswald. Jim grew up in Clifton and Bellmead, graduating from La Vega High School and Texas A&M University, where he was a Ross Volunteer and named outstanding petroleum engineering student. He married Patricia Anne Roberts in 1958, and served in the US Air Force, where he studied meteorology. With his hard-earned education, Jim was able to fulfill his dream of traveling the world as a consulting petroleum engineer, living in Indonesia and Venezuela, as well as several different states before retiring back home to Waco. He excelled at and enjoyed teaching other engineers, playing golf, storytelling, and gardening. Jim was especially proud of his family. Jim was preceded in death by Anne, his beloved wife of 52 years, and his parents. He is survived by his children, James Andre Anz and wife Mona, Shari Anz, and Craig Kyle Anz and wife Laura; his grandchildren, Eleah, Isaac, Olivia, Amelia, Irene, Mathias, Allyssa, Lane, Caleb, Tallis and Aodhan; his brothers, Robert Anz and wife Judy, Allen Anz and wife Louinda, and Steven Oswald and wife Debbie; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. Special thanks to caregivers at Brookdale Lake Brazos, The Atrium and Accent Care.
