Dorothy Lee Nelson, passed away Monday, May 9, 2022.
Visitation will be 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, May 13, 2022 at Bellmead Funeral Home. Services will be 9:30 am Saturday, May 14, 2022 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bellmead with Pastor Larry Krueger officiating. Burial will be at Riesel Cemetery.
Dorothy was born April 16, 1937 to Walter C. and Ida (Steig) Kroll. She married Billy Gene Nelson on February 11, 1956. She worked at the Methodist Home in Waco, HEB and was the bookkeeper at Trinity Lutheran Church in Riesel, Texas. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bellmead, Texas and loved flowers and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Gene on November 1, 2003; her brothers, Louis Kroll and Vernon Kroll; her sister, Gladys Heath; and several nieces and nephews.
Survivors include her son, Charles Nelson; her siblings, Walter Kroll Jr., Harold Kroll and his wife, Susan, Alice Bennett, Edward Kroll and Charles Kroll and his wife Ella Mae; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Kroll, Steve Kroll, Todd Kroll, Bubba Bennett, Ronnie Kroll, Gene Kroll and Lee Kroll; Honorary Pallbearers will be, Billy Plagens, Kent Kroll, Randall Kroll, Jeffrey Kroll, Michael Kroll and Ray Kroll.
