Allen Dean Hand, 78, of Bellmead, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 16, 2022.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Prairie Hill Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, August 26, 2022 at Bellmead Funeral Home.
Dean was born in Watt, Texas, to Raymond and Willie (Auberry) Hand on August 3, 1944. He graduated from Axtell High School in 1962. He began working at Owens Illinois glass plant after graduating high school and in 1965, he was drafted into the Army where he served until 1968. He returned to work at Owens Illinois until his retirement in 1994. After he retired from the glass plant, he started Hand Sand & Gravel, which he ran for several years.
Dean was preceded in death by his father Raymond Hand; his mother, Willie '' Bill'' Hand; and his brother, James Weldon Hand.
He is survived by his daughter, Tammie and husband David Albers; and his two granddaughters, Sara Albers and Emmalie Albers. Dean is also survived by his first wife, Diana Kubitza, mother of Tammie; and second wife, Gail Hand; his sister-in-law, Norma Hand; nephew, Brian Hand and his wife, Dawn; nieces, Terri Lindsay and her husband, Ricky, Julie Hahn and her husband, Bobby, and Heather Tindle and her husband, Craig, along with several great-nieces and nephews.
A special ''Thank You'' to the many family members and close friends who visited Dean in the hospital and for all the many friendships he made at Owens Illinois, Hand Sand & Gravel and others throughout the years.
Memorials can be made to Providence Hospice or a charity of your choice.
