Lois Ladean Hawkins, 67, of Bellmead, Texas passed away Monday August 22, 2022 in Waco. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Saturday August 27, 2022 at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Duane Hoxworth, Rev. Elton Hall, Rev. Chad Mcaninch, Russell Devorsky and Tony Dudik officiating. Visitation will be from 1-2:00 pm prior to the service Saturday. Burial will be private on Monday at Rosemound Cemetery in Waco. Pallbearers will be Bryan Hawkins, Robby Hawkins, Cris Hawkins, Dr. Howard Childs, Mitch Davis and Clyff Curry. Honorary Pallbearers: Lyndon Olson Jr., Ralph Vanegas, S.G. Radcliff, Alvin Dudik, Steve Phillips, Dr. Steven Elwell and Dr. Brad Hawkins. Lois was born in Waco on October 22, 1954 to Earl and Peggy Phillips. She attended Western Hills High School in Fort Worth after graduating she attended Tarrant County Jr. College also in Fort Worth. Lois moved to California and attended Chabot College in Haywood, California where she was a member of the Phi Theata Kappa Honor Society. Lois was a Legal Secretary for Sehay Law Firm for a while and then worked at Texas State Technical College as an accounting department secretary. She then was the secretary for the president of the college and retired after 23 years. Lois was a graduate of Bellmead Citizens Police Academy and was instrumental in the capture of the I 35 armed bandit where she followed and called the police to give them his location. She also volunteered for many Bellmead city functions, was a Red Cross Volunteer and was a blood donor. She is preceded in death by her parents Earl and Peggy Phillips and a grandmother Lois Statham, niece Stephanie Phillips, brothers-in-laws J.E. Woodruff and Dr. Brian Hawkins and Ben Hawkins, also a step-son Jeffery Hawkins. She is survived by her husband Robert Hawkins of Bellmead which she married on December 30, 1995, brother Steve Phillips and his wife Patti, nieces, Shannon Weems and her husband James, Paige Smith and her husband Danniel, step-daughter Debra Miller, step-son, James Hawkins, sister-in-laws, Barbara Woodruff and Linda Hawkins.
