Gary Ray York, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2022.
Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Bellmead Funeral Home.
Services will be 11:00 am Monday, September 19, 2022 at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with Doug Stringer officiating. Burial will be at Rosemound Cemetery.
Gary was born November 21, 1947 in Clifton, Texas to W.V. and Nona Fay (Campbell) York. He served in the Navy Seabee's and retired from the City of Waco as a Master Electrician after 38 years of service. He married Ernestine Codney on August 30, 1991. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church, loved fishing and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Glenda; brothers, Ray, Randy, Bobby and Earl Boman; and a sister, Dorothy Baker.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Ernestine York; his children, Aneece Smith and her husband, Matt, William G. York and Victoria Miller; his brother-in-law, Ted Codney; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces , great- nephews and wonderful cousins; and best friends, Ann and Steve Moore.
Pallbearers will be, William York, Matt Smith, Christian Smith, Colton Smith, Cameron Smith and Mike Boman.
Honorary pallbearer will be Ted Codney.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Providence Hospice, Home Instead nurses and staff, especially Cindy and Steve for their care and support.
Memorial donations may be made to Parkinson's of Waco, at HOT-PACS, 1257 Drake Court, Waco, TX 76710, any local V.F.W. or any charity of your choice.
