He went to work with his brother and dad once he returned to Waco from service in the military, afterwards, He moved with his family to the Dallas area where he worked as a trucker and at manufacturing jobs in Dallas. During his life he always enjoyed hanging out with his family, kids, grandkids, and picking on and teasing them. He attended the kids dance recitals and all sorts of sporting events.

He liked walking the mall and riding around in the scooter at the Target store. He liked all sports, but his favorite was football. He was a passionate Dallas Cowboys fan! He enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia especially anything Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed watching movies, listening to music, eating goodies, and drinking ''sodie'' waters.
