Elva Josephine Taylor, 83, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at her home in Woodway. A visitation will be held at Bellmead Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 25 from 6-8pm followed by a memorial and burial at Albany, Texas Cemetery on Thursday, July 27 at 1pm.

Jo was born in Hallsburg, Texas, August 5, 1939 to Homer C. and Josephine Campbell. She attended LaVega I.S.D., McLennan Community College and received her Bachelor and Masters of Science in Educational Administration with honors from Baylor University. She enjoyed teaching elementary school, fervently helping shape the lives of children at Waco I.S.D. and Midway I.S.D. for 20 years. She was a long-time member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Bellmead and loved to read, sing, shop, bowl, watch old movies and tv, was an amazing seamstress, but her favorite thing to do was spend quality time with family and spoil her kids and grandkids.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Homer C. and Josephine Campbell and sister Charlotte Stanford.

Survivors include husband of 54 years, Raymond C. Taylor Jr., her children Charlotte Burns and husband Everett of Bruceville Eddy, Wayland C. Duckett, Jr. of Conroe, Christine Jo Taylor of Los Angeles, Raymond C. Taylor III and wife, Karin of Aledo, her grandchildren James Burns, Brandon Duckett, Danielle Duckett, and Raymond C. Taylor IV, her brothers, Homer C. Campbell, Jr., Talmadge Campbell, and Thomas Campbell, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fuzzy Friends Rescue or American Heart Association.
