James Russell Shepperd

James ''Rusty'' Russell Shepperd, 72, passed away at home on Sunday, December 3, 2023. He
loved racing and his family very much.
He was born on June 7, 1951 in Waco, Texas to Milton Russell Shepperd and Martha Nell
Sawyer Shepperd. Rusty graduated from Connally High School in 1969; after high school he
joined the National Guard. He worked many, many years at the family business Shepperd's
Cabinet Shop. Also, owning the business for a few years before retiring from carpentry in 2007.
He married Patricia Elaine Gaston Shepperd on June 13, 1969. He also spent many years
racing and watching his son and grandkids race.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and loving wife.
He is survived by his sister Dottie Tate and husband Danny, daughter Becky Sturdivant and
husband Randy, Son Jeff Shepperd and wife Stormy, grandchildren Heather Brown and
husband Tim, Meagan Morace and husband Josh, Hayle Votaw and husband Trey, Raven
Shepperd and fiancé Chris, Dalton Sturdivant and wife Susan, Jesse Shepperd and Millie, and
Jennifer Sturdivant and multiple nieces and nephews; his great grandchildren Elaina, Leland,
Josephina, Memphis, Lorelei, and Jasper, also lots of other family and countless friends.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 from 6pm-7pm at Bellmead Funeral Home
and services are to follow at 7pm.
