Lowell Thomas Adkins aka Preacher, 74, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 30, in
Temple, Texas.
Lowell was born and raised in Waco, Texas, where he attended Connally schools, obtained
an associate in arts degree from MCC and graduated from Baylor University with a
bachelor's degree in communications. He was a longtime member of Antioch Community
Church. Lowell devoted his life to sharing the gospel with everyone he met. He loved his
family and enjoyed sharing jokes and stories with them every chance he got.
Lowell was preceded in death by his parents, George and Martha Adkins; his sister, Larnell
Relyea and husband Charles; and brother-in-law, Richard Newell.
Survivors include his sisters, Lavell Newell of Bell Buckle, Tennessee; and Lindell Roussell
and husband, Roger, of Rogers, Texas. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces
that loved him dearly.
A private celebration of life is planned for a future date.
