William Carroll "Bill" Douglas was born February 26, 1933 in Waco, Texas and died June 15, 2019 in Elm Mott, Texas.

After Graduation from LaVega High School 1952 Bill joined the United States Navy and married the love of his life Dorothy Evelyn. He served 8 years in the U.S. Navy on the USS Bream Submarine as an electrical systems specialist. In 1953 their son Ricky was born and after being stationed in Hawaii they returned to Waco and their daughter Cindy was born. The year of 1964 Bill went to work for Johnson Spacecraft Center (NASA). He worked there as a television and communications engineer during the Gemini and Apollo missions where he earned several commendations and awards. After retirement they moved to Buffalo Texas and Bill started his own business operating a bulldozer service. Bill has many hobbies including classic cars and traveling. After the passing of his wife of 48 years he soon found the other love of his life Mary Lou and married her. Bill and Mary Lou made their home in Elm Mott Texas. He was a member of the Concord Baptist Church, Waco, Texas, was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Buffalo, Texas and was a Shriner, Houston, Texas.

He was survived by his wife Mary Lou Douglas of Elm Mott Texas; his daughter Cynthia Lynn Dunlap of Buffalo, Texas and her husband Rick Dunlap; his step-daughter Debbie Listoe of Dripping Springs, Texas; his granddaughter Holly Terrell of Houston, Texas; his grandson Kevin Griffith Jr. of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; his granddaughter Whitney Griffith of Victoria, Texas; his step-grandson Chris Tyre of Wimberley, Texas; his step-granddaughter Lisa Tyre of Austin, Texas, step-granddaughter Victoria Listoe of Drippings Spring, Texas, step-granddaughter Brandi Austin of Kyle, Texas and step-granddaughter Erica Rodriquez of Austin, Texas; his brothers Thomas Douglas of Waco, Texas and sister in-law Mary Anne Douglas and Raymond Douglas of Round Rock, Texas and sister in-law Joanne Douglas; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Evelyn Douglas; his son Richard Carroll Douglas; his father W.T. Douglas; his mother Ruby Shelton; his step-mother Doris Douglas; and his sister Jeanette Simoneaux.
