Betty Ann Moses Kirkland, 87, of Bellmead, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 16, 2021, at 8:21 a.m., in Fort Worth, Texas.
Betty Moses Kirkland was born to Fred and Lois Moses on May 09, 1934, in Taylor, Texas. Betty was a majorette and Miss La Vega of La Vega High School. She served as a bookkeeper for Green's Pharmacy for many years, was an active member of Oaklawn Baptist Church, an avid Texas Rangers fan, a Baylor University sports fanatic, and loved to read novels and shop. Her greatest joys included traveling with her husband, family and friends and time spent with her children and grandchildren.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Wilburn Kirkland, her sisters Marie Hook and Peggy Lietzel, her brothers Carey Moses and Wayne Moses.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters and sons-in-law Carol and husband Billy Cathey of Granbury, Texas, Karen and husband David Corley of Abilene, Texas, Sharon and husband Dennis Simon of Denton, Texas, grandchildren Kirk Corley of Mobile, Alabama, Kaitlyn Cathey of Branson, Missouri, Tanner Simon and wife Sara of Benton, Arkansas, Tyler Simon and wife Danielle of Allen, Texas, Kelsi Cathey Lamberth and husband Ryan of Dallas, Texas, Travis Simon of Dallas, Texas, Kade Corley and wife Rachel of Levelland, Texas, great-grandchildren Tristan Simon of Benton, Arkansas and Callum Simon of Allen, Texas, sister-in-law Pat Moses, sister-in-law Reta Kirkland of Axtell, Texas, brothers-in-law Jerry McKamey of Kansas and Paul Leitzel of Pennsylvania.
Serving as pallbearers will be her sons-in-law, David Corley, Billy Cathey, Dennis Simon, nephews Rusty Kirkland and David Kirkland and grandson-in-law Ryan Lamberth.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at Oaklawn Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Terry Wilkerson from Oaklawn Baptist Church in Waco, Texas. Burial will be at Waco Memorial Park.
